What is special about an abbeyfield House?
Abbeyfield Houses offer a "home within a home" to the lonely, elderly man or woman who, though relatively fit for his/her years, but is no longer willing or able to live alone and indeed, may be at risk.
It also offers a warm family style home and a balance between privacy, companionship, security and independence, combined with the special caring element provided by dedicated volunteers.
Abbeyfield provides supportive care and life style that the elderly are accustomed to and one that reminds them of home rather than an institution.
Abbeyfield creates a sense of "belonging" for the resident and this sense of "belonging" has made Abbeyfield the success it is internationally. It is a time proven fact that many residents take on a new lease in life after moving to an Abbeyfield House.
